Jason Pillay Memorial Cup 2004 A soccer tournament held by Jason's soccer clubs was held on Sunday, 7 November 2004. The function was hosted by the various clubs that Jason played for in Lenasia South, Johannesburg, since 1989. It was a huge success mainly due to the efforts of all his friends, family and sponsors involved. It was a fiiting tribute to a great sportsman and even greater man. To experience this honour bestowed on my husband has been a very humbling one and awe-inspiring one, which Kirshen, Yulisha and I will forever be grateful for. It may not ease the pain we still feel, but it helps knowing that Jason has had such an amazing impact on everybody that he came into contact with.
We thank all of you for making the day so special and memorable. |

I love you...more than all the sand in the sea! Jason (born Jaysenthren) Pillay was born on 17 May 1968 to Dyanithee(died 1975) and Manickum Pillay in Durban, South Africa.
Jason has two beautiful children, Kirshen (13) and Yulisha (11) and wife, Vanitha. He was the most loving, fun, caring, unselfish father and husband. A family who thrived on the love and happiness he generated. A family who loved each other, 'more than all the sand in the sea'.
Jason is the 4th son of 5 boys; Wally, Dupy, Kruben and Macky.
He excelled at business, having successfully managed Consortium Shipping for 10 years. His success was the result of the integrity and honesty he employed in all areas of his life.
Jason excelled in every sport that he participated in: Soccer Volleyball Cricket Tennis Table Tennis Golf
He received the Victor Laudorum trophy for outstanding achievements in sport in 1980. A soccer tournament was held in his honour by members of his soccer club, Friends in August 2004. A 2nd soccer tournament will be held in his honour on 7 November 2004, 'The Jason Pillay Memorial Cup' hosted by all the soccer clubs that he played for in Johannesburg.
Jason's love and caring knew no bounds as he went out of his way for absolutely anybody and everybody. He was truly an angel sent by God to bless us with his love...this is his legacy...beautiful memories filled with love. |
